Legal usage policy
Use Mendeley in line with the product license, your university or employer policies, and copyright rules that apply to the PDFs you store. Attaching a PDF you are not entitled to keep does not become lawful because reference software can import it.
Citation styles and exported bibliographies are tools for attribution. You still need to cite sources accurately in your writing.
Ethical usage statement
Treat AI reading helpers as assistants, not authorities. Verify claims in the original paper before you quote or paraphrase them. Do not present model-written text as your own research findings.
When you collaborate in groups, respect coauthor confidentiality and embargoed manuscripts.
Source transparency
Mendeley is proprietary, not an open-source reference manager. This site documents publicly described versions, requirements, and release notes so you can make an informed install decision.
Version facts currently highlighted: Reference Manager 2.148.0 for Windows, EXE about 278.88 MB, SHA256 published on the download page.
No-malware clarification
We do not bundle toolbars, unrelated offers, or modified installers on this site. Download buttons are left as # placeholders until you attach the final package URLs.
A scanner warning is not automatic proof of malware, and a clean local scan is not a lifetime guarantee. Always verify the checksum for the build you intend to run. Practical steps are in the antivirus guide.
User responsibility disclaimer
You are responsible for backing up critical libraries, exporting formats your journal accepts, and following institutional security rules. This informational site does not replace vendor support or legal advice.
